2023 Toyota Crown

What’s New?

It’s been a while since a new Toyota Crown was released in Canada, but the time has finally come. One of the most refined Toyota models has been out of the North American market since 1972, but 2023 compensates for the long absence. Indeed, a lot has changed between the two releases, so everything you’ll read here is entirely new compared to what was released 50 years ago.

Performance and Driveability

Performance and Driveability

All Toyota Crown’s trims have hybrid powertrains as a standard feature, although the flagship model comes with the exclusive Hybrid Max configuration. The 2.4L engine also works with an electric motor, with a combined capacity of 340 hp. Lower trims also use a hybrid system but have 236 hp.

The basic model has three electric motors with a 2.5L engine and CVT (continuously variable transmission). As for fuel efficiency, all models range between 11km/L in the city and 16km/L on the highway.

Interior and Exterior

The interior design and features scream “premium” on every detail. Front seats are cooled and heated independently, and the entire vehicle has dual climate zone control. It’s a very spacious crossover sedan, with more legroom and headspace than most vehicles of the kind. Leather upholstery is standard for upper trims, along with a panoramic sunroof. Other trims use Toyota’s Softex upholstery.

The 2023 Toyota Crown is a crossover sedan with a few tweaks that make it look like a four-door coupe. Its height and size almost sit it in the SUV category and replace Toyota’s previous sedan, the Avalon, and it comes with a wheelbase of 285cm. Toyota Crown’s sleek and modern design is available in several colours.

The new line-up boasts a 31.24cm display on top of a digital gauge cluster, increasing operability and functionality for the driver. Those screens are oriented horizontally and come with a piano-like keyboard.

The array of driving assists included in this line-up allows the vehicles to park automatically and offers support in lane keeping, blind-spot monitoring, collision warning, and much more.

All models come with comprehensive warranties, which cover hybrid components for eight years, powertrains for five years, complimentary maintenance for two years, and a limited warranty for three years.
