2022 Toyota 4Runner vs 2020 Toyota Highlander

If you have been looking for a new SUV, you have probably noticed that Toyota has several impressive options to choose from. Because there are so many options, it can be hard to decide which vehicle would best suit your needs. To help cut down non any confusion, we have compared two of our most popular SUV models. Here is a look at how the 2022 Toyota 4Runner compares to the 2022 Toyota Highlander.

Exterior Design

The 2022 4Runner has a sporty and rugged design that is also stylish. The vehicle has a versatile design that makes it perfect for tackling off-road terrain or cruising down the city streets. To enhance its off-road capabilities, even more, the 4Runner offers the TRD Pro model. This special edition model offers a lot of off-roading equipment, which includes locking rear differentials, a scooped hood, 4-Wheel Crawl Control, 17-inch Matte Black Aluminum wheels, 31.5-inch all-terrain tires, Multi-Terrain Select, multi-terrain monitor, and much more.

The Highlander is also ready for an adventure. However, it features a more sleek and elegant exterior design. The long body is outlined in dramatically flowing lines and elegant curves, which help to give it a more sophisticated appearance. To give the exterior a more elegant look, the Highlander offers the Bronze Edition. This special appearance package adds bronze door sills and 18-inch bronze wheels to the exterior. It also comes standard with rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power liftgate, and a digital display rearview mirror.

Interior Comfort

The main difference between these two vehicles is the amount of interior space.

The 4Runner has a spacious interior that is able to comfortably seat up to five adults. There are two rows of spacious seating and there is plenty of legroom offered to both the front and the backseat passengers. The cabin comes standard with heated front seats, and the second-row seats are able to recline up to 16 degrees. If you need to add a few more passengers, the Limited and SR5 models offer split-folding third-row seats.

The Highlander offers more interior space and comes standard with three rows of seating. The cabin can feature seating for seven or eight passengers. The interior also comes with a wide range of high-end features, including standard heated front seats, a tri-zone climate control system, and available heated seats in the second row.

Technology Features

The 4Runner comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display that features Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice recognition, and more.

The Highlander comes with the same standard 8-inch infotainment display. However, a larger 12.3-inch display is available in certain trims. Both displays come with a wide range of advanced features including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
